Purposes And Lawful Bases
- - Contract: to create and operate your account and provide the study tools you request.
- - Legitimate interests: to secure the service, prevent misuse, control service costs, diagnose faults and improve content quality.
- - Consent: where a feature specifically asks permission, including processing an uploaded image for text extraction.
- - Legal obligation: where information must be retained or disclosed to comply with applicable law.
Uploaded Documents
- - Uploaded learner documents are stored against the uploading user account.
- - The app uses account ownership checks so another learner should not see your uploaded library.
- - You can remove uploaded documents from your library where the app provides that function.
- - Do not upload documents you are not permitted to use.
Service Providers And AI Processing
- - SeaOrals uses service providers for hosting, authentication, database and storage services, AI processing, and support operations.
- - Current core providers include Vercel, Supabase and OpenAI. Payment providers will be identified here before paid subscriptions begin.
- - Some features send prompts, answers, audio, summaries or extracted text to AI providers to generate study support.
- - SeaOrals should avoid sending unnecessary personal data to AI services.
- - Providers may process information outside the UK. SeaOrals relies on the provider's applicable contractual and transfer safeguards.
- - AI-generated material is a learning aid and must be checked against official sources.
Retention And Security
- - Account and study information is kept while your account remains active and as needed to provide the service.
- - Uploaded documents remain until you delete them or the associated account data is removed, subject to backup recovery periods.
- - Security, usage and support records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for operations, legal obligations and dispute handling.
- - SeaOrals uses access controls, account ownership checks, encrypted provider connections and restricted server credentials. No online service can promise absolute security.
Your Data Rights
- - Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to receive portable data.
- - You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
- - Send requests to seaoralsai@mail.com. Identity checks may be required before account information is disclosed or changed.
- - You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you remain unhappy with how a data concern is handled.
